Hey everyone!

We’ve passed the halfway point of our campaign to make the Extreme Metal episode of Metal Evolution and to mark the occasion we’re adding a new perk! Sam and the Banger team have dug deep through the archives to revisit Gaahl’s memorable interview from Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey and are now releasing it digitally as an extended, stand-alone, never seen before video. It will be delivered to inboxes mid-December.

In 2004, Sam and Scot travelled to Norway to interview Gorgoroth’s Gaahl for their first documentary Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. In the film, Sam asks Gaahl about his perspective on the incidents that brought the Norwegian Black Metal scene out of the underground and into the headlines in the early 1990s. However, there is much more to the interview than what made it into the final cut of Headbanger’s Journey.

Since its original theatrical release and subsequent DVD releases worldwide, Headbanger’s Journey–and consequently Gaahl’s interview–have been the topic of discussion for metalheads the world over. MetalSucks.net calls it  the best interview ever in the history of metal interviews, and has even become an Internet Meme – now you too can own an extnded Director’s Cut of Gaahl’s infamous interview from this groundbreaking film. Find out more about his perspective on Black Metal, his views on Satanism and how he sees Black Metal fitting into the broader history of metal music.

Think of this as your your own collector’s piece of Black Metal insight!
