Rush: Beyond the Lighted Canadian Theatrical Release Dates

Posted in: Headbanger's Journey DVD Tour | 12 Comments | Posted on by admin

Hi Folks. Fantastic news (for those of you in these areas) !! The Rush documentary is set to release to a select few Canadian Theatres on June 10, 2010. Be sure to keep an eye on the theatres and don’t miss out!! Here, I’ll just get to the point below:

EXPERIENCE IT.

ONE NIGHT ONLY THURSDAY, JUNE 10 at 7pm

RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage is Released to the Following Theaters:

SCOTIABANK THEATRE, TORONTO

CINEMARK TINSELTOWN, VANCOUVER

THE UPTOWN, CALGARY

CINEMA DU PARC, MONTREAL

CINEMA LE CLAP, QUEBEC CITY

* Additional Le Clap screenings on Fri June 11 at 7 & 9:15pm and Sat June 12th at 9:15pm *

There is a ton of great press out there and some scathingly terrible review as well, which are quite hilarious, and clearly do nothing to serve the good of the writer. Here, check this one out. Some fantastic quotes in here especially “Lead singer and bassist Geddy Lee‘s high-pitched voice, especially, is a demon wail of an epileptic cat with cancer — a banshee on helium.” => magic..

Lovely interview with a few dudes: You need to flip over to the Tube cuz they disabled embed. But come back and tell us what you think!!!

Any chance of this film coming to Docfest in Stratford Ontario????

Tickets only available at the box office I assume?

I’d love to see it in the theatre but won’t mind if I miss it. I bought the DVD as part of the VIP package with my tickets to see ‘em this summer.

I can inquire about Docfest. They might be into some more press.
Not sure about the theatre tix. Best to ring the cinemas themselves.

No Ottawa? How do we get a showing in Ottawa? Please tell me what I have to do.

Bummer about one night only. There are a tonne of Rush fans in Vancouver and the theaters don’t answer their phones…it’s always recordings. Likely not going to be able to get tickets to this.

Good thing I bought the VIP package tickets for their tour this summer — it includes a copy of the DVD.

Hey guys — had the pleasure of attending the Toronto premiere last night and just wanted to say, on behalf of all of us diehard Rush fan(atic)s, thanks for a tremendous job on the documentary! I thought I had seen every possible photo and video clip out there, but there was a wealth of new material in the film that was extremely interesting to see. That, coupled with some really entertaining commentary by the band (especially Neil) made the show an absolute masterpiece.

    Great job — congratulations!!

I will definitely be on the hunt for Toronto tix for June 10!!

Is there no Nova Scotia Canada showing?

  • George

Saw the movie last night and it was amazing! Sam & Scot did an incredible job and thanks to Rush by releasing a lot of photos and rare videos! My only disappointment is that I would like to see it on June 10th but something tells me that tickets will be hard to come by. More dates would be appreciated!!

Any chance of some European showings? Any news on the Euro zone DVD release?

Re: Dave – Showing in Ottawa.

I am in Ottawa too and would like to see a showing here as well. I called Alliance Films (416-309-4200) and they said at this time there is no Ottawa show planned, but depending on reaction there may be one later…

Great job guys. I think you compiled and captured some great moments there. I won’t go on about how long I’ve loved the band, but I will say how much I thoroughly enjoyed that movie. The whole place applauded the pre-credit ending and then again at the end of the credits (those who haven’t seen it yet will soon see why there were two ovations). Well done.

To the “boys inna band” (should they check this blog…and I think they might once in a while) I say thanks for letting us in for a glimpse of you from that side of your work.
